Documenting the helicopter world

Helicopassion is an independent media platform dedicated to the helicopter world. Through field reports and illustrated dossiers, the project highlights the aircraft, missions and expertise that shape everyday helicopter operations.

Like the many contributors, operators, institutions and readers who already trust Helicopassion, you can also take part in the editorial adventure, depending on your background and the way you would like to get involved:

  • contribute
(photographers, professionals, enthusiasts: images, stories, expertise)

1. Contribute to the Helicopassion adventure

Do you have photographs, videos, testimonies, mission stories, operational feedback, expertise, a report idea or information about a photographic opportunity? Feel free to share it with us.

Above all, Helicopassion is a human and editorial adventure built through contributions and encounters: photographers, pilots, mechanics, aviation professionals, institutional personnel or simply privileged witnesses of exceptional operations and aircraft.

Particular attention is paid to every collaboration, especially regarding copyright, usage rights and confidentiality. This approach is formalised through the following documents: Contributors charter and Copyright & published content.

2. Organise a report with Helicopassion

Helicopassion produces immersive field reports alongside the people and organisations shaping the helicopter world: civil operators, training organisations, armed forces and institutions.

The aim of these reports is to document real-world missions, operational environments and expertise, while highlighting both the aircraft and the women and men who operate them on a daily basis.

Depending on the context and authorisations, reports may also include video sequences designed to complement the documentary approach through moving images.

Who produces the reports?

The reports are produced by Helicopassion, an independent media platform led by a photographer specialised in helicopters, with an approach deeply rooted in field presence, imagery and operational understanding. Depending on the project, contributors may also be involved.

Why work with Helicopassion?

Working with Helicopassion means choosing a demanding and independent documentary approach:

  • real field presence and immersion.
  • an understanding of technical, human and regulatory constraints.
  • content designed to remain relevant beyond immediate news coverage.
  • a faithful, contextualised and respectful representation of operational environments.

A clear and respectful framework

Each report is prepared and coordinated beforehand with the organisations and personnel involved. Safety procedures, operational constraints and confidentiality requirements are systematically taken into account.

Publications are submitted for validation whenever operational contexts require it.

Strong visual added value

The reporting approach relies on demanding field photography, considered as much a tool for understanding as for visual transmission. The resulting content provides immediate readability through imagery, contextualisation through written content and the creation of visual archives with long-term value.

Audience & reach

The reports are published on Helicopassion.com and distributed through a complementary social media ecosystem. They remain accessible over time and form a searchable documentary resource supporting transmission and understanding.

To better illustrate how these reports unfold in the field, you can also consult the feedback from operators below.

Discuss a report project

A presentation document can be provided on request, with content adapted to civil, institutional or operational contexts.

Feedback from operators after field reports

Following the reports, helicopter operators and organisations publicly shared warm feedback about the experience:

  • “A huge thank you to Helicopassion for documenting the commitment of our crews.” // Helilagon.
  • “After spending a day with our crews, we were delighted to see our helicopter featured on Helicopassion.com.” // Pilotes Le Havre.

3. Support the project over time

Financial support

Helicopassion is developed and maintained independently. Support from readers and partners helps cover technical costs (hosting, security, maintenance) and allows the editorial project to continue growing.

Support Helicopassion via Paypal

Support can be occasional or long-term. It is intended for those wishing to support a specialised, independent media platform dedicated to showcasing the helicopter world.

Partnerships

Given the role Helicopassion plays in highlighting operators, aircraft and missions from across the helicopter world, the project is also open to sponsorship and partnership opportunities, while preserving its editorial identity and independence.

Helicopassion lives through imagery, field presence and sharing. Thank you for contributing, in your own way, to this collective adventure.
